About Microchipping:

A microchip implant is an identifying integrated circuit placed under the skin of an animal. The chip, about the size of a large grain of rice, uses passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, and is also known as a PIT tag (for Passive Integrated Transponder). For dogs the chip is placed in the pocket between the shoulder blades near the back of the neck. This process is only a minor intrusion and the microchip should not be an irritation or annoyance to the dog in any way.

Statistics without Microchipping (according to the AAHA):

– 1 in 3 dogs are lost at some point in their lifetime
– Approximately 90% of lost dogs never return home
– Only 15% of dogs taken to shelters return home
– Microchip placement is recommended at 6 weeks of age or at first available opportunity after
